About the Bundle
Sitopaladi Churna is a classical Ayurvedic formula referenced in the Charaka Samhita and Bhaishajya Ratnavali, two long-standing classical Ayurvedic texts, with a documented history of traditional use spanning many centuries. The formula traditionally combines cooling ingredients, Vamsa Lochana (bamboo silica) and Rock Sugar, with warming ingredients, Pippali (long pepper), Cardamom, and Cinnamon. In Ayurvedic tradition, this combination is traditionally associated with seasonal comfort during cooler, damper weather, when Kapha is traditionally said to accumulate.
In classical Ayurvedic practice, honey is the traditional Anupana (carrier) for Sitopaladi Churna, mixed together into a thick paste and taken slowly. This bundle pairs the formula with Vitality Now's Stingless Bee Honey, raw, unprocessed multifloral honey harvested from stingless bees in the Luwu region of South Sulawesi, Indonesia, so both halves of this traditional preparation are ready together.
This bundle is a seasonal wellness pairing, not a medical treatment. Please see the safety notes below before use, particularly around honey and children under 12 months, and consult your healthcare practitioner for any respiratory, digestive, or other symptoms that concern you.
Benefits
Seasonal Ayurvedic Wellness
- Traditionally used as a seasonal Ayurvedic wellness formula, particularly during cooler, damper months
- Traditionally classified in Ayurveda as balancing Vata and Kapha
- Traditionally enjoyed as a naturally sweet, pleasant-tasting preparation once combined with honey, its traditional carrier
- Traditionally used across generations in Ayurvedic households as part of a seasonal wellness routine
Traditional Digestive Comfort
- Traditionally used to support comfortable digestion, alongside its seasonal-wellness role, through its warming spice content (Pippali, Cardamom, Cinnamon)
A Natural, Traditional Carrier
- Honey is traditionally considered the primary Anupana (carrier) for Sitopaladi Churna in classical Ayurvedic practice, traditionally believed to help direct a formula's action
- Raw and unprocessed, Stingless Bee Honey retains its natural floral character, unlike heavily processed commercial honey
- Multifloral, reflecting the diverse native flora of the Luwu region, giving each batch a distinctive, complex flavour profile that complements the formula's warming spice character
Directions for Use
Traditional preparation (with honey):
Mix ½ to 1 teaspoon of Sitopaladi Churna with an equal amount of Stingless Bee Honey to form a thick paste. Take slowly, allowing it to sit on the tongue before swallowing. Honey is the traditional Anupana (carrier) for this formula in Ayurveda.
With warm water:
If you prefer not to use honey on a given occasion, stir ½–1 teaspoon of Sitopaladi Churna into a small glass of warm water and drink slowly.
With warm milk:
Stir ½–1 teaspoon into warm dairy or plant-based milk with a small amount of Stingless Bee Honey, if desired.
Seasonal use:
Traditionally used during seasonal transitions, particularly autumn and winter.
Honey on its own:
Enjoy Stingless Bee Honey directly by the spoonful, or stirred into other foods and drinks, separately from the Churna.
Important safety notes:Do not use honey for children under 12 months, due to the risk of infant botulism. For children over 12 months, please consult your healthcare or Ayurvedic practitioner directly for age-appropriate guidance before giving this formula to a child, rather than relying on a general dose here. Consult your healthcare practitioner before use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have diabetes (this formula contains Rock Sugar, and honey is also a source of natural sugars). Not recommended for Pitta-dominant constitutions in large amounts without practitioner guidance, as Pippali and Cinnamon are traditionally considered warming. If you're using this for cough, breathlessness, or any respiratory symptoms, please see a doctor, this is a traditional seasonal wellness product, not a treatment for respiratory conditions.
