About This Honey

This is raw, multifloral honey from wild Trigona stingless bees in the Luwu Region of South Sulawesi, Indonesia. Stingless bee honey differs from conventional honeybee honey in one key way: these bees build their entire hive, honey pots, brood cells, tunnels, from propolis, rather than using it only as a minor structural sealant. As a result, this honey naturally contains a notably higher concentration of propolis compounds than conventional honey.

The Luwu Region is a biodiverse area of tropical forest, rivers, and wildflower meadows, reflected in this honey's multifloral character. The honey has a distinctive fresh, floral, tart flavour with a gentle bitterness from its propolis content.

Certified by Indonesia's BPOM (National Agency of Drug and Food Control, RI MD 152128005380) and MUI LPPOM halal certification (00120101310120).

This is a food product. Not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. This information is general and does not constitute medical or dietary advice.

Benefits

• Naturally higher in propolis compounds than conventional honeybee honey

• Naturally contains a range of flavonoids (including quercetin, kaempferol, luteolin, and isorhamnetin) and phenolic acids (coumaric, ferulic, and gallic acids), which are naturally occurring plant compounds found across many foods

• Naturally higher in organic acids (gluconic, citric, malic) than conventional honey, this is the source of its distinctive tart, complex flavour

• Naturally contains minerals (calcium, magnesium, potassium, zinc) and trace B vitamins

• Raw and unheated, so naturally occurring enzymes (glucose oxidase, diastase, invertase) remain present

• The distinctive tart-to-bitter flavour is a natural characteristic of higher-propolis honey, and a marker of authenticity for this style of product

Directions for Use

Daily use: Take 1–6 teaspoons daily, either straight from the spoon or stirred into a small glass of warm (not hot) water. Begin with 1 teaspoon daily and gradually increase according to individual preference and tolerance. Consistent use provides the greatest cumulative natural wellness benefit.

With Sitopaladi: Traditionally, Sitopaladi is combined with honey to create a smooth herbal paste. Mix equal parts Stingless Bee Honey and Sitopoladhi Powder until well blended, then slowly dissolve ¼–1 teaspoon in the mouth up to 5 times daily. This traditional preparation allows the herbs and honey to remain in contact with the throat for longer while providing a pleasantly soothing Ayurvedic wellness ritual.

Temperature note: Avoid mixing this honey into very hot water or tea, temperatures above 40°C begin to break down some of the honey's naturally occurring compounds and its delicate flavour profile. Warm or room-temperature liquid preserves this better.

In warm water: Dissolve 1–2 tablespoons in a glass of warm water, with a squeeze of fresh lemon if desired.

With herbal teas: Add 1 teaspoon to a warm (not hot) herbal tea, this pairs well with ginger, turmeric, lemongrass, chamomile, or any of the Vitality Now tea blends. Let the tea cool slightly first.

As a food: Drizzle over yoghurt, porridge, fresh fruit, or toast as an alternative to conventional honey.

On the tongue: Some people enjoy letting a small amount sit on the tongue before swallowing, for the flavour experience.

Storage: Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight. Do not refrigerate. Natural crystallisation may occur, this is normal for raw, unprocessed honey and doesn't affect quality. Gently warm the sealed jar in warm water to re-liquefy if needed.

Important safety note: Not suitable for children under 12 months, all honey carries a natural risk of infant botulism. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or managing blood sugar levels (including diabetes), please consult your healthcare practitioner before regular use, as honey is a source of natural sugars regardless of its other properties.
