About This Oil

Restore Flow. Awaken Vitality. Some experiences call for more than a simple carrier oil, they call for a purposeful, traditionally infused Ayurvedic preparation that works at every level simultaneously. Detox Massage Oil is exactly that: a three-tier revitalising formula that layers the deep tissue-nourishing quality of Black Sesame Oil, the classical Ayurvedic tradition of Karpooradi Thailam (one of the most revered warming oils in Ayurvedic history), and the invigorating aromatic energy of the Vitality Now Kapha Balancing Essential Oil Blend, traditionally used together to support natural movement, warmth, and clarity throughout the body.

In Ayurvedic tradition, the body's channels (Srotas) are described as carrying prana, blood, lymph, and nutrients through the tissues. When these channels are said to become sluggish, congested, or blocked, as is traditionally described in excess Kapha (heaviness, cold, dampness, stagnation) or disturbed Vata (dryness, cold, erratic movement), the body is said to lose its natural flow and ease. This traditional concept is often described as a feeling of heaviness, cold or stiff-feeling tissue, and an overall sense of low energy.

Detox Massage Oil is traditionally formulated with this concept in mind. Camphor within Karpooradi Thailam is traditionally used for its warming quality; Black Sesame Oil is traditionally used as a nourishing carrier that supports the other ingredients; and the Kapha Balancing Essential Oil Blend is traditionally valued for its invigorating aromatic quality.

Traditional Ayurvedic wellness product. "Detox" and "channel-clearing" are used here in the traditional Ayurvedic sense (supporting Srotas) and are not claims of physiological detoxification. Not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

Directions for Use

Warm the oil: Warm a small amount of oil in your palms or in a small bowl placed in warm water. Warm oil is traditionally considered to penetrate the tissues more deeply. Never microwave, gentle warmth is best.

Apply with firm massage strokes: Apply warmed oil generously to the skin using firm, circular strokes, especially over areas that feel heavy, cold, or tense. For a traditional lymphatic-style massage, use long, upward strokes toward the heart. For muscle and joint comfort, use circular strokes over the area being addressed.

Leave on for 10–40 minutes: Allow the oil to absorb for a minimum of 10 minutes, ideally 20–40 minutes. Rest quietly during absorption if possible.

Remove with exfoliating gloves and warm water: After absorption, gently scrub off with exfoliating gloves and warm water. This traditional removal method not only removes the oil but supports natural skin cell renewal and a naturally radiant, polished complexion, combining the benefits of Ayurvedic oil massage with gentle natural exfoliation. After showering, finish with a light application of Vitality Now Jojoba Oil to lock in natural moisture and support soft, comfortable, beautifully nourished skin throughout the day.

Focus areas for Kapha clearing: Apply with particular attention to the chest, upper back, and traditional drainage areas (armpits, groins, and the sides of the neck).

Focus areas for Vata balancing: Apply generously to the lower back, hips, sacrum, and feet, the primary Vata seat in the body in Ayurvedic tradition, and to any areas of cold or stiffness.

Daily or seasonal use: Use daily during cold and damp seasons as part of an ongoing wellness routine, or as part of a seasonal massage ritual, ideally alongside guidance from a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner.

Safety note: This oil contains Camphor. Always perform a patch test before full body use. Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Not recommended for children under 2 years, and use with caution in older children. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. Do not apply to broken or irritated skin. Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Detox Massage Oil and what does it do in Ayurveda? +

The Detox Massage Oil is an Ayurvedic herbalised oil formulated with stimulating, Kapha-moving herbs traditionally used to support natural lymphatic movement, circulation, and the body's own detoxification pathways. In Ayurveda, Kapha excess and Ama accumulation are addressed through stimulating massage with specific herbal oils, this formula is designed for that purpose.

How do I use the Detox Massage Oil? +

Apply with firm, upward-moving strokes from the extremities toward the heart and lymph nodes, following the direction of lymphatic flow. Focus on areas prone to congestion or heaviness. Use for full body massage or targeted areas 2-4 times per week. For a complete Ayurvedic detox routine, follow with a warm shower to assist the elimination of mobilised toxins.

Can the Detox Massage Oil support weight management? +

Stimulating Kapha-reducing massage with herbalised oils is a traditional Ayurvedic component of weight management programs, used alongside dietary adjustments and herbal supplementation. The stimulating herbs in this oil are used to move stagnant Kapha energy and support natural circulation and metabolism. This product is not a treatment for obesity or any medically diagnosed weight condition.

Can the Detox Massage Oil support natural lymphatic drainage? +

The lymphatic-stimulating herbs in this Ayurvedic oil are used as part of traditional massage practices that target lymph node areas and follow lymphatic drainage pathways. Regular massage with stimulating oils in the direction of lymph flow is a traditional Ayurvedic and natural health practice for supporting the body's natural waste elimination. It is not a treatment for lymphoedema or any medical lymphatic condition.

What is the difference between the Detox Massage Oil and the Vata Balancing Massage Oil? +

The Vata Balancing Massage Oil is formulated to nourish, ground, and calm, it is an inward, building Yin practice. The Detox Massage Oil is formulated to stimulate, move, and clear, it is an outward, Kapha-reducing Yang practice. If you tend toward dryness, anxiety, and cold (Vata), use the Vata Balancing Oil. If you tend toward heaviness, sluggishness, and congestion (Kapha), use the Detox Massage Oil.
