About the Bundle

A weekly clarity treatment is best finished properly. The Rose Water & Clarifying Clay Mask Duo pairs two products designed to work together, in fact, the mask's own directions specifically recommend both using Rose Water in place of plain water to mix the paste, and misting with Rose Water immediately after rinsing.

The Clarifying Herbal Clay Mask is a traditional aromatic herbal clay formula passed down through generations of the Nanal family, a lineage of Ayurvedic Vaidyas (traditional Ayurvedic physicians). Six ingredients, Sariva (Indian Sarsaparilla), Turmeric, Sandalwood, Licorice, Manjistha, and Bentonite Clay, work together: Bentonite Clay is traditionally valued for drawing excess oil and impurities from the pores, while the herbal blend is traditionally used to cool, soothe, and nourish the skin. The mask is traditionally classified as Tridoshic and Pitta-pacifying.

Organic Rose Water Toner is pure steam-distilled Rosa damascena hydrosol, known in Ayurveda as Shatapatri ("the hundred-petalled") and classified as cooling (sheetala), the supreme herb for balancing Pitta dosha. With a natural pH that mirrors the skin's own protective environment, it can be used both to prepare a richer mask paste and as the refreshing, Pitta-cooling finish immediately after rinsing.

Together, this simple duo takes a good clay mask and makes it a complete two-step ritual, from mixing to finishing, in one purchase.

Benefits

Natural Skin Clarity & Radiance

  • Traditionally used to support naturally clear, balanced, and comfortable-feeling skin through the mask's combined drawing, cooling, and nourishing action
  • Traditionally used to support a naturally even, bright-looking complexion, Manjistha, Sariva, and Licorice are traditionally valued for this in Ayurveda
  • Bentonite Clay is traditionally used to draw excess sebum and impurities from the pores, supporting a naturally clean-feeling skin surface
  • Tones and naturally refines pores, Rose Water's naturally astringent character gently tones the skin surface immediately after the mask's drawing action

Hydration & Comfort

  • Deeply hydrating and refreshing, Rose Water provides lightweight, immediately absorbed hydration that supports the skin's natural moisture balance after masking
  • Licorice and Sandalwood are traditionally valued for supporting the skin's natural moisture balance, complementing the clay's drawing action
  • Naturally soothing and calming to the skin, Rose Water supports comfortable, settled skin ease and a naturally cool, refreshed complexion

Pitta Balance & Cooling Comfort

  • Traditionally classified as Pitta-pacifying, Sandalwood, Sariva, Licorice, and Rose Water are all traditionally valued for a cooling, calming quality traditionally associated with warmth or sensitivity at the skin surface
  • Manjistha and Sariva are traditionally classified as Rakta Shodhana herbs in Ayurveda, a traditional category loosely translated as "blood-purifying"
  • The mask is traditionally described as Tridoshic, cooling for Pitta, nourishing for Vata, and clarifying for Kapha, and Rose Water shares this same cooling, balancing character

Aromatic & Sensory Ritual

  • Sandalwood's rich, warm, earthy-sweet fragrance is one of the most treasured natural aromas across Indian, Middle Eastern, and Buddhist tradition
  • The fragrance of Rosa damascena is traditionally valued in aromatherapy and Ayurvedic practice for supporting a naturally positive and settled emotional state
  • Traditionally used to support a feeling of calm and settledness during application, through aromatic inhalation
  • A genuinely pleasurable sensory ritual, designed as an aromatic, unhurried skincare experience

Directions for Use

Step 1 – Prepare the mask paste:

Place the desired amount of Clarifying Herbal Clay Mask powder into a small ceramic or glass bowl (avoid metal, which can react with the clay). Mix with a few drops of Rose Water at a time until a smooth, spreadable paste forms, for a richer preparation than plain water.

Step 2 – Apply the mask:

Apply the freshly prepared paste generously to the face, neck, décolletage, or other desired areas. Massage gently in circular movements for 1–2 minutes, then leave the remaining paste evenly over the skin.

Step 3 – Wait until dry:

Allow the mask to dry, approximately 10–20 minutes. A gentle drawing sensation is normal as the clay works. Remove sooner if you feel any discomfort.

Step 4 – Rinse:

Remove the dried mask with warm water and gentle circular motions.

Step 5 – Finish with Rose Water:

Immediately after rinsing, mist your face generously with Rose Water for a refreshing, Pitta-cooling finish. Pat gently, do not rub.

Mask frequency:

Use daily for the first 1–2 weeks if desired, then 2–3 times per week as an ongoing routine.

Rose Water on its own:

Use morning and evening as a standalone toner after cleansing, independent of mask days, or mist over the face at any point as a refreshing, mood-lifting ritual.

Safety:Patch test before first use of either product. Avoid the eye area with the mask; Rose Water is not intended for direct spraying into the eyes. Discontinue use if irritation occurs. The mask is not recommended during pregnancy without practitioner guidance, as its Turmeric content may temporarily stain sensitive or broken skin. Consult a dermatologist for persistent skin concerns.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's included in the Rose Water & Clarifying Clay Mask Duo? +

The bundle includes Organic Rose Water Toner (200ml or 500ml) and the Clarifying Herbal Clay Mask (50g or 200g).

How do I use these two products together? +

Mix the Clay Mask powder with Rose Water instead of plain water for a richer paste. Apply, leave to dry 10–20 minutes, then rinse. Immediately after rinsing, mist your face with Rose Water for a refreshing, cooling finish. Rose Water can also be used daily on its own, independent of mask days.

How often should I use the Clay Mask? +

Use daily for the first 1–2 weeks if desired, then 2–3 times per week as an ongoing routine. Consult your Ayurvedic or healthcare practitioner if you have questions about the right frequency for your specific skin type.

Do I need a separate moisturiser after this routine? +

This Duo covers the masking and toning steps; if you don't already have a facial oil or moisturiser, we'd recommend finishing with one to seal in the hydration. Vitality Now's Organic Jojoba Oil is the recommended pairing, and it's included, along with this same mask and rose water, in the Complete Skin Clarity Ritual bundle if you'd prefer to get all three in one purchase.

Is this bundle suitable for sensitive or Pitta-type skin? +

Yes, both products are traditionally classified as Tridoshic or Pitta-pacifying, particularly suited to skin prone to sensitivity, redness, or overheating. For more sensitive skin, leave the mask on for a shorter time.

Is this bundle safe to use during pregnancy? +

The Clarifying Herbal Clay Mask is not recommended during pregnancy without practitioner guidance, as its Turmeric content may temporarily stain sensitive or broken skin. Rose Water is gentle and commonly used during pregnancy, but as with any new product, consult your healthcare practitioner if you have questions.
